Identifying with colors usually starts in childhood. Imagine that you're sitting in your toy room with either your siblings or family members, getting set to play your favorite board game. The small pieces came in four different colors: red, yellow, blue and green. There were three different types of players. The first would spot their color and grab it without a word. The second was the type that requested the color and wait to see if anyone else wanted it. The last group would take turns taking the color that they desire. Why do the players choose the colors they do? Maybe that specific piece brought them luck the last time they played. Perhaps it wasn't a choice: it was the last one in the box. But in most cases, it is because the color draws them in.

And just like every color in the spectrum, each shade has personality traits associated with it. For example, if you wanted to buy a new high-end sedan, many of the ads for these vehicles use either black or silver cars. Why? Because black is often associated with sophistication and mysteriousness and people often relate silver with being forward thinking. By painting this image of what you could be if you were to own this black or silver vehicle, companies make sales.
