However, some people argue that soulmates are not a realistic way to view love. 

Those who think this way believe that love is more of a choice than a random occurrence and that after the heated passion wears off at the beginning of a relationship, the feeling of being destined for each other slowly fades. In other words, to keep love alive, a couple must choose each day to prioritize each other, instead of relying on fate to keep them together.
